Testimony of Wolfgang Eisermann

For many years I attempted to reach a right standing with God by working my way to heaven. The Lord had blessed me with a successful career as a hearing health care professional, which enabled me to give back to the community in many ways. Two friends and I built part of an orphanage in Mexico, as well as flying into Mexico once monthly to care for the sick. This was accomplished in co-operation with the Flying Doctors of Mercy, a group of multifaceted physicians from Loma Linda University Hospital, located in Loma Linda California, and doctors as far away as northern California Nevada.

The Lord revealed Himself to me in so many ways, but I was blinded by my own ambitions and did not recognize that what I was doing with my life was not in accordance with God’s will. Having money will lead many onto ways of destruction, mine was the opposite sex. Having a beautiful family and a good life was not enough. What I was looking for is not clear to me to this day. The Lord had called me several times, but….like a fool, I rejected His calling.

The scripture tells us in 1 Cor. 6:9 that “No adulterers” shall inherit the Kingdom of God, I surely fell into this category. I was looking for love in all the wrong places. When you have a couple dollars in your pocket, the “ladies” find you, you don’t have to look for them. In Psalm 39:11 we read “Rebukes do correct man for iniquity, God makes the beauty of men consume away like moth."

In 1991, while living in Hawaii, a 25 year long business associate of mine offered to spend some intimate time with me. It was against my nature, at least at that time, to refuse an offer like this. While in route to her apartment, some powerful strange feeling came over me, not recognizing it for what it was. The scripture tells us 1 Cor. 10:13 that “God will not allow us to be tempted beyond of what we are able….,” and He will provide a way of escape. Being who I was, my eyes were focused on that young woman and what was to come. She finally said “NO” to the earlier suggestion of spending some intimate time together, instead she asked for a large amount of money. In the event that I would come forth with this money, she would tell my wife of what just took place. This sounded like an extortion attempt, and I refused to assist her financially due to the nature of her demand.

After leaving the Islands and returning to the mainland, we settled in Las Vegas. Here I freelanced for various hospitals, audiologists, and other hearing health care providers and continued to expand my clientele. Life was good, at least so it seemed.

Then on January 10, 1994, my world collapsed around me. The Metro Police of Las Vegas came to my home and arrested me and placed me into the Clark County Jail awaiting extradition back to Hawaii.

The Hawaii courts convicted me by jury of assault and kidnapping and ultimately sentenced me to term of twenty (20) years of incarceration. In August of 1994 I was sent to Halawa Correctional Center on Oahu, Hawaii. While there I came across a fellow inmate, his name is “Rockie” Williams, who introduced me to the study of scripture. The first lesson in Bible study led to #2, 3, 4 and so forth. Yes it was sweet like a honeycomb. As the scripture tells us in Proverbs 24: 13-14, it is sweet to the soul and full of knowledge.

Then on December 28, 1995, I was sent along with 299 other inmates to Texas. In August 1996, a church group from DeRidder Louisiana came to bring us the Word of God. Among these brothers and sisters was a beautiful, grayheared siter. She was widowed and sang like an “Angel,” I still hear the song clearly “You are standing on Holy ground.” God told her that I was her husband. She asked, how can this be, since I was still married to my wife of 34 years. Then in the summer of 1997, Three Pines Pentecostal Church from DeRidder came to hold a concert in the yard. After the service, I was asked by one of the officers to follow him. He directed me to the group of volunteers who were for the most part related to the “Angel”, her name is “Joan.” We shook hands and by the looks of their faces, I was accepted.

Then in December 1997, my wife divorced me, and since that time I had no contact with my family, including my sons. It was hard to accept the facts, that everything was gone. But God had another plan for me.

In 2 Cor. 5:17 we are told that the moment we accept and receive Christ as Lord and Savior, we are a new creation in Christ Jesus, and “Old Things are passed away; behold, all things become new.” This happened to me in a literal sense. On that December day in 1997, everything was gone – the family, my former life, and all my belongings.

But God already prepared a way and a new family. He (God) prepared the hearts of this new family in my life, this included a complete new family. Never in all my days had I seen love, this can only come from God. We read in Hebrews 13:5 that Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us. This had been proven to me time and again.

Then in 1998, I received a letter from Renaye, one of Joan’s daughters, inquiring of whether I had any intentions or deeper feelings for her mother, other than being a mere pen pal or sister in the Lord. This was received by me as a proposal to join this godly family. I accepted the invite and am now looking forward to my release. At this present time, I had already spent sixteen (16) years in prison, but God will open these doors soon, and a new life will begin.

It took nearly 13 years before my eyes were opened to receive the complete inside of what has been done in my life, and that He (God) is in full control of lives, if we let Him. Once we come to Christ Jesus and we receive Him as Lord and Savior, the life that we once had is no longer our own. We will go through the valleys and troubled times, when we have to look up to God for help. Like the scripture tells us in Hebrews, He will never leave us nor forsake us, He is always by our side. Like in my own life, while still married, He (God) paved the way for a future life, a life absent of adultery and fornication, but a life that is in accordance with His will and statutes. God started 18 months prior to my divorce in preparation on the hearts of Jodi and her loving and God fearing family to allow me to be part of these fine folks. In the event that my life would have continued with the wife and family I had for 35 years, I would have undoubtedly returned to a life of sin. The scripture tells us in Proverbs 26:11, “As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool returns to his folly.” By His (God’s) grace, my old life has ended, and a new and righteous life lies ahead.

God knows our hearts, even when we are still in the world (sin), by His grace and mercy, He (God) reached out and lifted us out of the destructive life style we were in. By allowing me to come to prison, He saved me from eternal damnation. To God be all the glory.
